@greeting(Dear Mr. Morgan)
@begin (body)

I have known Dr. Stoyan, since he wrote me from East Germany and I met
him in the Soviet Union. I haven't struggled through very much of his
German text, and, as you can tell from his letter, his written English
still isn't very good. However, I know that he has done an extremely
conscientious and careful job of consulting everyone who might know
about LISP history and is very fair minded. I therefore think that
his book should be published and that a substantial number of computer
scientists and laymen interested in computing will find it
interesting.

Sincerely,

John McCarthy
